Objective:To investigate the mental status of patients with vertigo. Methods:The psychological sta-tus of healthy individuals (control group, n=60), vertigo medical workers (medical group, n=89) and non-medical workers (non-medical group, n=67) were evaluated by Symptom Checklist 90 (SCL-90). Results:The anxiety, de-pression, somatization, phobia factor scores in the non-medical group were significant higher than those in the control group ( <0.01). There were no significant differences in anxiety and depression factor scores between the medical group and control group. When compared with the non-medical group, there were significant differ-ences in total score and anxiety, depression, somatization, phobia factor scores in the medical group ( <0.01) . The total score and anxiety, depression, somatization, phobia factor scores of women were significant higher than those of men ( <0.05 or <0.01). With the extension of vertigo course, the average scores of anxiety, depres-sion, somatization, phobia factor were gradually increased ( =0.014). Conclusion:Vertigo patients would pre-sent anxiety, depression, somatization and phobia.
