当今社会对人才的英语能力要求较高，为了使培养出来的学生能真正适应未来就业岗位的需要，本文通过分析社会需求和学生的英语水平，提出高职英语教学应夯实基础，在专业英语教学的同时还应继续基础英语的教学。

Job-hunters are required to have a better knowledge of English in today’s world. In order to make students truly meet the needs of their future jobs, the author in this thesis points out that vocational English teaching should help students lay a solid foundation for English and make sure that the teaching of basic English continues when English for specific purposes is taught.
