铁路既有线顶进施工是在保证铁路行车不中断的前提下，通过对既有线加固后，在既有线路基一侧开挖工作坑，浇筑滑板，在滑板面上设置润滑隔离层，然后在滑板上预制钢筋混凝土框架及修筑后背，安装顶进设备，通过传力设备，借助与后背的反作用力把框架向前推进，当顶进一个顶程后，再增加顶铁，挖运出土一个顶程距离，继续进行下一个顶程施工，如此循环，直至箱涵顶进就位为止。
鐵路既有線頂進施工是在保證鐵路行車不中斷的前提下，通過對既有線加固後，在既有線路基一側開挖工作坑，澆築滑闆，在滑闆麵上設置潤滑隔離層，然後在滑闆上預製鋼觔混凝土框架及脩築後揹，安裝頂進設備，通過傳力設備，藉助與後揹的反作用力把框架嚮前推進，噹頂進一箇頂程後，再增加頂鐵，挖運齣土一箇頂程距離，繼續進行下一箇頂程施工，如此循環，直至箱涵頂進就位為止。
