In the low temperature methanol washing process, the poor metheanol contains carbonyl compounds. When using Nessler's reagent colorimetric method for determination ammonia content of poor methanol, it will lead to the turbidity of the solution and be unable to colorimetric determination. In addition, sulfide in the poor methanol with Nessler's reagent reacts,will generate red mercuric sulfide in color. The paper introduces how to eliminate the inter-ference of poor methanolcarbonyl compounds and sulfide, so that accurately measure the ammonia content of methanol in poverty.
