Based on the status of monitoring section in the Nanjing section of the Yangtze River , correlation analysis and cluster analysis method were used to analysis water quality monitoring data .Some suggestion were put for optimization of sampling sites in automatic water quality monitoring in Nanjing section of the Yangtze Riv-er.
