根据水平井打捞时上提力和扭矩无法全部传递到井下水平段内，因此常规的上提、套铣和倒扣等打捞方法都难以解决水平段筛管打捞的问题。水平井水平段内大长度筛管打捞工艺技术，首先是清除处理完水平井井筒内“鱼顶”上部的沉砂，再采用相应的工艺对筛管外的沉砂进行松动，最后下入公锥进行倒扣打捞，或下入水力割刀切割后进行分段打捞，最终达到将井下大长度筛管全部捞出的目的。该项打捞工艺技术可应用于各种水平井、大斜度井筛管及中心管的打捞。
