中国高等教育经历了1999-2008的10年的扩招。从2009年开始生源大幅度减少，高职院校招生深受影响。经历扩招扩建到生源急剧减少的过程，高职院校面临学费收入锐减、债务负担沉重、录取生源素质下降等诸多问题。在此背景下，我们针对高职院校英语教师开展调查，发现他们职业现状受大环境影响，不容乐观。其中，6个突出问题是：科研和职称压力大、深造进修机会少、收入偏低、通勤压力大、职业成就感缺乏、生存危机感强。

Chinese higher education has experienced 10 years of enrollment expansion of 1999-2008. From the beginning of 2009, students greatly reduced, enrollment in higher vocational colleges is greatly affected. During the enrollment expansion to sharply reduce the students, tuition revenues, heavy debt burden, quality decreased of admitted students in high vocational college. In this context, we carry out the investigation for English teachers in higher vocational colleges, find their occupation status impacted by the large environmental, is not optimistic. Among them, six outstanding problems:scientific research and professional pressure, postgraduate training opportunities is small, low income, commuting pressure, lack of occupation accomplishment, strong sense of survival crisis.
