“神话原型批评”作为一种文学批评模式，研究的对象主要是原始文化，其兴起源于对人类原始思维以及心理结构的研究。在剖析原始文化时主要借用了“万物有灵”、“交感巫术”以及形成这些观念的根本---原始人的“集体无意识”。人类文化的普同性和心理的相通性让这个批评模式在中国原始文化上的运用成为可能。作为中国原始文化最具代表性的四大传说《牛郎织女》《孟姜女》《梁山伯与祝英台》《白蛇传》对这一理论的体现足以证明世界文化的多元一体。

“The myth prototype criticism” ,as one of the literary criticism patterns , focuses on the primitive culture and the thinking way of primitive people as well as their psychological structures .Some concepts ,such as the Animism , the Sympathetic magic and collective unconsciousness are used .The homogeneity and psychological interlinked features of human culture made it possible for the Myth Prototype Criticism to apply these concepts to the study of Chinese primitive culture .The theory of Myth Pro-totype Criticism are all manifested by the representative of the four greatest Chinese legends “Cowherd and the Weaving Maidens”,“Meng Jiangnyu”,“LiangShanbo and ZhuYingtai”,“the Tale of the White Snake”.
