双语教育相关议题可大致分为两类:一类是关于双语教育的目的,另一类是关于双语教育的实践。这两个方面彼此紧密联系,前者为后者创造环境和条件,并通过后者得以实现。本文将以中国的双语教育为大背景,首先简要讨论两个与双语教育的目的相关的问题,在此基础上继续探讨四个与双语教育的实践相关的问题,即双语教育开始的年龄、双语教育类型的选择、教师与语码转换。

Issues in bilingual education can be divided into two major categories:one is about the aims of bilingual education itself, and the other is related to the implementation of bilingual education programs. The two aspects are closely related to each other, the former setting detailed contexts for and being achieved by the latter. This article will first generally discuss two topics related to the first aspect and then, based on that, go on to talk about four implementational issues in bilingual education:the proper age to start bilingual education, the choice of the type, bilingual teacher and code-switching.
