Geotechnical engineering investigation of Baoding area should be divided into mountain area, piedmont plain area, alluvial and flood plain area according to the topographic and geologic condition. When surveying mountain area, we should combine with drilling and geophysical methods to determine the buried depth of bedrock and residual soil thickness; when in piedmont plain area, we should pay attention to ancient river and ancient trench sedimentary;when in alluvial and flood plain, due to the soft ground, not high bearing capacity, and more interlayer, we should pay attention to sample quantity and soil test index to meet the requirements of calculation.
