Based on the analysis of the current situation of the Public English teaching staff in vocational colleges , this essay probes into the professional construction of the Public English teachers such as how to strengthen the con -struction of their vocational abilities to equip them with professional practical abilities in addition to their theoretical knowledge and teaching skills ,to promote the cultivation of the compound teaching staff .
