The record about Symbolic Punishment in many Chinese ancient literatures, The Book of History, for example, reflected the ‘education first’ of the early legal concept. Its characteristic coincided with the rule of virtue in primitive society and the Shame Culture type. Its original spirit affected the later legal cultural characteristics.
