《楚辞》是对中国文学产生深远影响的第一部浪漫主义诗歌总集。《楚辞》英译是融合语内翻译和语际翻译为一体的跨时空对话活动。在当今中华文化“走出去”的形势下，尤其需要学贯中西、译研并举的中国译者的主动译介。译者应注意保持译文的异域风味与流畅可读性的统一，采用化深为浅、韵律变换、译注兼顾等方法再现原文的思想内涵和美学情致。《楚辞》英译作为中国典籍英译的缩影，在中学西传的过程中具有进一步推介中国学术、客观诠释中国形象、弘扬中华传统文化精髓的深远意义。
