A bearingless brushless DC motor is a new type of high performance motor , which integrates the function of magnetic bearings into a brushless DC motor .It has the characteristic of no friction , no wear , high speed , long service life of the magnetic bearings , and also has the advantages of high efficiency , small volume, simple structure of the brushless DC motor , and it has a potential vast development and application prospects .In this paper , the motor structure of the bearingless brushless DC and the principle of suspension force generation were introduced .A comprehensive overview of the bearingless brushless DC motors was presented , with particular emphasis on the motor structure and the control strategy analysis .On the basis of the superiority and the existence problems of the bearingless brushless DC , the research development trend of the bearingless brushless DC motor was analyzed in this paper .The results provided the reference for the fur-ther study on the bearingless brushless DC motor.
