礼乐文化是中华民族文化的核心和主流。礼乐起源于上古，至周代趋于完善。礼强调差异，讲求秩序，意在确定人伦规范建构社会的等级关系；而乐则讲求旋律，强调和谐，试图诉诸情感，实现人际关系的良性交往。二者有不同的形态和功能，但是在封建社会，经过儒家的整理和组织，将礼与乐合二为一，试图借此实现家族、社会以及政治的和谐。礼乐文化不仅在历史上发挥了重要作用，而且以其深刻的思想性具有超越时代的意义。

Rite& music culture is a core and mainstream of Chinese national culture. Rite& music originated in antique and took completion in Zhou Dynasty. Rite emphasizes on difference and order with the aim to establish a social hierarchy on basis of ethic norms; and music highlights melody and harmony with the appeal to emotion that facilitates good interpersonal communications. Though the two items are different in forms and functions, they were organized and integrated by Confucians in feudal society to a unity that serves to facilitate clan, social and political harmonies. Rite& music culture played a key role in Chinese history and its profound thoughts is beyond the limit of age.
