《化书》乃五代时期道教之经典，其中颇为丰富之伦理思想竟为学界所忽视。它视角独特地从生物学上寻找人类伦理之源；痛斥当时道德堕落之状况；认为伦理教化之根基在于帝王无为寡欲，清正爱民；其实施策略即为与民同甘共苦，倡导平均，厉行节俭；其伦理理想则为由人人平等而至天下大治。这是融儒家、佛家思想于道家之中的伦理创新，是中古道教伦理思想之重要成就。
《화서》내오대시기도교지경전，기중파위봉부지윤리사상경위학계소홀시。타시각독특지종생물학상심조인류윤리지원；통척당시도덕타락지상황；인위윤리교화지근기재우제왕무위과욕，청정애민；기실시책략즉위여민동감공고，창도평균，려행절검；기윤리이상칙위유인인평등이지천하대치。저시융유가、불가사상우도가지중적윤리창신，시중고도교윤리사상지중요성취。
Hua Shu is the Taoism classic in the five dynasties period.It has rich ethical ideas,but very few people study it.It looking for human ethics root from biology.It denounced the moral fall situation a-bout that time.It considers that ethics education's foundation being the emperor inaction,no desire,j us-tice,and loving people.Its implementation strategies is share the j oys and sorrows with people,advocate average,and practice thrift.Its ethical ideal is from everyone being equal to a vast orderly community. This is the ethics innovation which smelting Confucianism,Buddhism into Taoist thought.So it can be re-garded as important achievement in medieval Taoist ethics thought.
