With continuous development of electricity information acquisition, improving level of real-time settlement of elec-tricity power sector and establishing a new type of meter reading way have reached consensus to all power sectors. In this paper, the author introduced composition and characteristics of electric power information collection system, and analyzed rea-sons and treatment of special variable acquisition terminal from two aspects of meter reading failure and communication faults.
