采用田野调查和资料分析方法，探讨潮汕各地荡秋千习俗的历史、做法、本质属性、存在意义及未来发展。结果表明，潮汕正月荡秋千，原是祭祀祖先的一种仪式；被潮汕乡民当作一种巫术或萨满教仪式，达到求子目的；此习俗客观上满足了潮汕乡村宗族社会吸收新人的需要，具有维持宗族社会秩序的功能；未来将转变成为一种象征符号。

By adopting a method of field work and documentation , this paper makes a research on the history , the practices , the essential attribute and the practical meaning of swinging in Chaoshan area .The results indicate that swinging in lunar January is originally regarded as a ceremony to worship ancestors but now a kind of sorcery to pray for a baby boy .Objectively , the custom meets the need of bringing new members into the clan society in villages in Chaoshan area, reflecting its function to keep order in the clan society .And in the future, it will be transformed into a symbol .
