The ice-breaking block instal ations of 300,000t quay project for crude oil in Dalian Changxing island adopted 1,300t large-scale floating crane to hoist, 2,000t barge to transport and GPS automatic positioning system to measure and locate. The construction proces proved the feasibility that ice-breaking block of the independent-pier structure can be instal ed even when the block’s bot om elevation was below the surface. This paper wil expound the keys and dif iculties of the construction technology, as wel as the construction situation.
