Starting from operation features of high-voltage DC resistor divider and its structure principle, this paper introduced the concept of radial discharge, generation mechanism and harm, giving the value estimation method of radial potential difference. Actual measures to reduce radial discharge harm were raised and applied in products design, which improved the reliability of high-voltage DC resistor divider equipment operation.
