Objective In order to better understand the influence of earthquake disaster on life expectancy at birth. [Methods] compare the all people’s life expectancy at birth and the standard measurement on children’s physical development in Lijiang Country in1988 which is before the earthquake with that in 2002 which is after the earthquake by using a sketchy life expectancy diagram and the measurement of children in nine cities in China in this theory. [Results] firstly, six-year-old boys who are in Lijiang Country before earthquake are 0.6cm higher than after earthquake, whose height is the first among the 10 countries from Yunnan Province turning into the ninth. Moreover, it’s almost ten years from 1990 which is before the earthquake to the 2000 which is after the earthquake, during which the male baby’s life expectancy has decreased 0.8 year comparing with that before the earthquake, while for the female baby, it has increased 2.5 years. In a word, when it comes to the life expectancy and Children’s physical development, the man suffer more from it than the woman; especially the children and the babies who were born before or after six months when the earthquake happened suffer most.
