The optimal reactive compensation is a complex nonlinear programming problem with characteristic of nonlinear both object function and restriction conditions and continuity and disperse of control variables .The conventional methods fall short of iterant time and astringency because of its depending on precise math models .This paper use LDW-PSO solve the optimal reactive compensation problem in radiation network which use to compare with conventional methods .The re-sult show that LDW-PSO have good performance to solve the optimal reactive compensation .
