为了减少原发性甲状腺功能亢进症（甲亢）患者手术治疗并发症的发生。我院采用术前应用碘剂及心得安控制甲亢症状，术中离断甲状腺上下动脉时双重结扎充分止血，确定待切除平面，注意保护背侧甲状旁腺及喉返神经。156例术后均无呼吸困难、切口内出血、甲状腺危象、声嘶、甲状旁腺功能低下等并发症发生，仅发生短暂手足抽搐2例。96例随访1年至3年，复发2例。提示术前足量应用碘剂及心得安稳定病情，术中精细的操作能显著减少手术并发症的发生。
