古代泰国（暹罗），教育为佛教所垄断，寺院是教育的最主要场所，教育就是用来保存宗教传统的，因而世俗教育必然依附于佛教教育。近代以来，泰国逐渐走上现代化道路，泰国佛教世俗化的趋向亦在加快，其一个重要表现就是泰国的世俗教育逐渐脱离佛教教育并逐渐普及；教育日趋世俗化、现代化，成为泰国教育发展的主流。另一方面，佛教教育在保持传统同时，也处在缓慢变革中。佛教教育与世俗教育的发展交相辉映，体现了传统与现代的较完美结合。
고대태국（섬라），교육위불교소롱단，사원시교육적최주요장소，교육취시용래보존종교전통적，인이세속교육필연의부우불교교육。근대이래，태국축점주상현대화도로，태국불교세속화적추향역재가쾌，기일개중요표현취시태국적세속교육축점탈리불교교육병축점보급；교육일추세속화、현대화，성위태국교육발전적주류。령일방면，불교교육재보지전통동시，야처재완만변혁중。불교교육여세속교육적발전교상휘영，체현료전통여현대적교완미결합。
In ancient Thailand (Siam), Buddhism had monopolized the Education. The temples were the most main place for educations. The education was used to save the religious traditions. The secular educations must be attached to Buddhist education. Since the modern times, the Thailand society was gradually to be modernization. The Thailand Buddhist secular trends had speeded up .the secular education of the Thailand was gradually away from the Buddhism education and gradually popular. The increasingly secular and modernized education of the Thailand became the mainstream of the education development. on the other hand,Keeping the traditions at the same time ,the Thailand Buddhism educations were also in the slower process of changes. The development of the Thailand Buddhism educations and secular educations embodied a perfect combination of the tradition and modern.
