Multiple independently targeted re-entry vehicle (MIRV) technology was applied in strategic missile with features of high penetration, multi-target attack capacity, quality cost-effectiveness ratio, etc. MIRV was a breakthrough in the development of strategic missile technology. The deployment of MIRV missiles of nuclear powers in the world was introduced in this paper. The reasons to develop MIRV technology were analyzed, and the developing histories of MIRV technology for each power were presented. In addition, key technologies were initially summarized for developing strategic missiles carrying MIRV.
