This experiment mainly includes a variety of hardware knowledge of computer composition principle and interface technology ,and it’s very helpful for students to understand and master the basic knowledge of computer hardware and the concept of computer system .Firstly ,this article introduces the working principle of MIPS processors ,programmable parallel interface chip 8255 and timer/counter interface chip 8253 ,and then introduces the basic thought of the experimental design , and the process of experimental design is described using the Verilog hardware description language .At the same time ,the experimental simulation waveform is given in Quartus 7 .2 software environment , and achieved on the Altera FPGA chip EP2C35F672C6 and DE2 development board .Practice has proved that the design can be stable and reliable .
