文学作品的审美功能决定了文学翻译过程中对原作审美品质传递的极端重要性，而文学作品因其审美功能与高度抽象性，广泛运用模糊言语营造美感。因此，文学翻译对原作模糊言语的恰当处理及其美感的传达提出了较高要求。模糊语言学与翻译美学相关理论的结合，为考察模糊言语的美学蕴含及其在翻译过程中的留存提供了较好的视角。在此理论基础上，通过对杨宪益和戴乃迭《边城》英译本中模糊言语的处理及其美感的存留与磨蚀情况展开考察，尝试以此了解模糊言语的不同处理方式及其效果。

The reproduction of the original aesthetic sense is of great significance in literary translation. Meanwhile literature, with its particular aesthetic motive, involves a wide use of fuzzy language to achieve aesthetic effects. Thus an appropriate han-dling of fuzzy language is highly required in literary translation to maintain its aesthetic effects. The combination of fuzzy linguis-tics with translation aesthetics provides a perfect perspective to study on the aesthetic implication of fuzzy language as well as its reproduction in the translation process. Based on this, it is hoped that, a review of the handling of fuzzy language and its corre-sponding effects in The Border Town by Yang Xianyi and Dai Naidie, could provide a better knowledge of various strategies and their effects to translate fuzzy language.
