目前，国内外测绘业使用的手持测距仪主要用于房屋室内测量，测距大多在70～80 m以内。在室外较长距离的测量中，手持测距仪存在着测距精度低、测距对点慢和准确率低等情况。手持测距仪快速定位测量装置旨在拓展手持测距仪应用范围，为室外较长距离测量提供了一种经济适用，简便快捷的测量方法。
