In this article, the application statuses of the solar energy preheating technology and waste heat re-covery technology in textile dyeing and finishing industry of our country are introduced. It points out that although solar energy can be used freely, solar energy preheating technology needs big investment and has long payback period, meanwhile, its usage is limited in dyeing and finishing industry due to its low heating temperature. The waste heat recovery technology has small investment and short payback period, however, it belongs to passive heat-ing system. Thus, these two kinds of technologies can be united applied in unison in order to take full use of their advantages. The results from case analysis show that for the new united technology, the investment cost decreases, the payback period is shortened. At last, the problems existing in the promotion of the new united technology are analyzed, with the develop direction given.
