Because of the quality improvement and in-depth study of the performance of cigarette paper, the tobacco company and the manufacturers have taking more and more attention to smoldering rate of cigarette paper. A lot of test data showed that smoldering rate has a close relationship with the basis weight of cigarette paper, whose correlation coefifcient is R2=0.9921. At the same time, along with the increase of air permeability and combustion supporting agent content, the smoldering rate gets decreased.
