A large number of expansion joints were designed in the main canal of Middle Route Project of South to North Water Diversion, and manual caulking not only consume time and labor but also prolong the construction period. Through analysis, gap filling machine was adopted in the construction. This paper gives a detail introduction to machinery caulking constriction in Bid Section 8 of Yuzhou-Changge section, including machinery selection and improvement, construction technology, colloid connec-tion, sealant filling etc. The construction accumulates the experience for caulking construction in expansion joint treatment of large-type canal.
