Conical instrument method and dish type method are applied to the test of soil boundary water content in indoor geotechnical experiment. To find common property and differences, the two liquid limit testing methods are used to measure soil samples respectively,which come from same sampling group. The testing results are compared and analyzed,which leads to an empirical formula for the correlation between liquid limit indices by the above two methods suitable for local geological condition.
