蕉园诗社是清初钱塘著名的闺秀诗社，有较大影响，但因文献缺失，今人颇多误解。文章结合人物生卒年和活动情况，对蕉园七子、蕉园五子（陈说）等称谓进行细致考证，认为她们均不可能同时在一起唱和，七子、五子只是后人的概称；蕉园诗社前后延续近四十年，参与人员众多，约有十六人先后参加诗社活动。活动内容丰富，有宴集、送别、哀挽等，留下许多作品。文章对这些活动一一进行了细致的梳理。
초완시사시청초전당저명적규수시사，유교대영향，단인문헌결실，금인파다오해。문장결합인물생졸년화활동정황，대초완칠자、초완오자（진설）등칭위진행세치고증，인위저문균불가능동시재일기창화，칠자、오자지시후인적개칭；초완시사전후연속근사십년，삼여인원음다，약유십륙인선후삼가시사활동。활동내용봉부，유연집、송별、애만등，류하허다작품。문장대저사활동일일진행료세치적소리。
As a reputed women’s poetry club, Jiaoyuan Club was influential in Qiantang during early Qing Dynasty. Unfortunately, due to the inadequacy of literature, this poetry club has long been misunderstood by the scholars today. This paper examines in details the addressing terms of “the seven young ladies of Jiaoyuan” and “the five young ladies of Jiaoyuan” based on the research of the life stories of the ladies involved. The author finds out that it was barely possible for the seven or five young ladies to compose and chant in chorus based on the finding that whatever they are, seven or five are merely a generic reference. In addition, the Jioayuan Poetry Club has a history of about 40 years, during which time approximately sixteen young ladies attended the literary activities organized, namely, feasting, farewell parties and mourning, generating abundant literary works.
