Quinic acid is an intermediate in fine chemical products and drugs, it has great application value in drugs, foods and chemical industry. Some of its derivants have been proved to have important pharmacological activities. This article summarized the distribution and sources of D-quinic acid, the pharmacological activities of its derivants and the application in chirqal synthesis.
