Pingxiang could produce 950000 tons of raw coal and 250000 tons of coke in 1916 ,so it was known as"Coal City in South of Yangtze River".After a hundred years of large -scale underground coal mining ,a large number of coal gangue have piled up like mountains .According to relevant data ,the whole city has accumulated nearly 100 million tons of coal gangue ,occupying a land area of 533 .3 hectares ,and the affected land around mining area has covered an area of 4755 .8 hectares and the destroyed forest land area has amounted to 4553 .5 hectares which need to be recovered and reconstructed . This article proposes the recovery and reconstruction technologies and some countermeasures for degraded forest in mining abandoned areas ,by drawing on the experience of recovering and reconstructing degraded forest in mining abandoned areas both at home and abroad .
