行业R＆D投入与产出绩效之间并不是简单的线性关系，不同的行业类型具有不同的创新特征，R＆D投入与产出的关系也存在差异。本文基于Pavitt创新产业分类，采用大中型工业企业面板数据，对我国制造业不同行业R＆D投资与绩效的关系进行非线性回归，结果表明我国制造业四大类行业中，供应商主导型和规模密集型行业R＆D投入与绩效的关系呈现弧度较高的倒U型曲线，而专业化供应商和以科学为基础的行业R＆D投入对产出绩效的影响呈平坦的倒U型曲线关系。围绕产业类型的创新行为特点，本文对这一结果进行了解释。

The relationship between sectoral R&D investment and performance is nonlinear .Different characteristics of innovation in different sectors determine the sectoral difference in relationship between R&D investment and performance .Using a panel of China's large and medium-size enterprises ,this study investigates the relationship between R&D investment and output performance .The empirical re-sults show that R&D investments have an inverted U -shaped curvilinear relationship with output performance of the firm . Furthermore , the relationships of R&D investment and performance in four different types of sectors ,based on the Pavitt's taxonomy of innovating firms , are also analyzed .
