The discussion on mining method selection and mining area layout in Yutian Mina drew conclusions as follows. Inclined long-wall fully-mechanized top-coal caving could be adopted in No.9 coal seam with whole-caving method managing roof. With good falling ability, the No.9 coal seam is suitable to use the top-coal caving. Therefore, a fully-mechanized top-coal caving face was set on the seam.
