With the further development of coal resources, Thin seam mining is becoming a nationwide scale trend. This article introduces the coal resources storage, mining status of thin coal seam and mining characteristics of the thin coal seam, and also introduces characteristics of mining technology and machinery for the thin coal seam at this stage, then, combined with development situation of thin coal seam mining technology in China, raise prospect of mining technology for the thin coal seam in the future.
