Objective To investigate the relationship between BMI and human-related in-dicators (blood glucose, the blood lipid, the blood viscosity and the blood pressure). Methods The study was carried out in 1950 cases, who participated in health examination in Dongshan Division, the First Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University. According to Body Mass Index, the cases were divided into 4 group: the underweight group (BMI: <18.5), the normal group (BMI: 18.5 ~ 23.9); overweight group (BMI: 24 ~ 27.9), the obesity group (BMI: ≥ 28).Results With the increasing of BMI, the level of the viscosity of blood, blood pressure, total cholesterol(TC), triglycerides(TG) and low-density lipoprotein (LDL), blood glucose, showed a trend of linear increase, but High-density lipoprotein (H DL) showed a trend of linear decrease. According to the same indicators in the study, there were significant differences in the groups. Conclusions Following the body mass index increasing, abnormal metabolism of lipids existed in obese adult, the risks of cardiovascular diseases are increased, it is very important to participate in regular health examination.
