Possible reasons of driving shaft fracture of K10 engine were analyzed by means of chemical analysis, met-allographic examination and hardness testing. Results show that the early failure and fracture of 20CrMo steel made driving shaft is caused by incomplete hardening of the axis and increasingly growing load.
