Defects of the generators and their accessories occurred in Ertan Hydropower Station from 1998 to 2009 are analyzed and summarized .The regular pattern of defects is identified .Prevention suggestions and measures are presen-ted, which could be useful references for the operation , maintenance and technical reformation of equipments in other large-scale hydropower stations .
