Yuzhou-Changge section of Middle Route Project of South to North Water Diversion Project, with a total length of 53. 7 km and 99 various structures distributed, is located in a transition zone of Sanfengshan hilly areas and plains. To ensure the construction quality of the canal passing through collapsible loess area, expansive rock ( soil) area and a coal mined-out area in the practical construction process, the design departments had adjusted, modified and optimized the original solution according to engineering geological conditions, so that the major geological problems can be properly tackled.
