Since a certain type of SWATH is anchored from the shipboard, its outside plate rubs against the anchor chain due to the drift of ship hull in the wave when the ship is anchored in the open sea area. This paper detailedly analyzes the cause of this problem through the catenary equation together with illustration, and proposes an optimized resolution in order to effectively avoid similar problems, which can greatly improve the ship performance.
