High permeability fissures are well developed in Jurassic coal seams in the Huanglong coalfield. The coalfield has advanta-geous geological condition for CBM exploitation, thus a momentous potential superseding area in the country. Based on CBM exploita-tion results in Jiaoping and Binchang mining areas, detailedly discussed key techniques in CBM exploitation mode, well deployment, drilling and completion, fracturing and drainage technologies. Finally, the author has pointed out that the underbalanced drilling, reser-voir preserving cavern completion and hierarchical pressure controlling combined drainage would be the CBM exploitation technologi-cal development trend in the area.
