文章针对大学应用本科学生英语基础普遍较低的状况，列举出在实际教学中学生出现的翻译问题与误区，阐述了翻译在大学英语教学中的重要性，并提出应该对翻译教学予以重视，并通过讲授基本的翻译理论与技巧，改进教学方法，真正提高学生自主学习及应用英语的能力。

Based on the weak foundation in English of the applied undergraduate students, this paper elaborates how translation plays an important role in college English practical teaching process by illustrating students ’translation problems and misunder-standings. It makes it clear that attaching importance to teaching translation is absolutely necessary. Its aim lies in improving self-learning ability and applied English of students by provided basic translation theories and skills as well as teaching methods.
