Shadowing exercise, one of teaching methods to strengthen speaking and listening capability and memory during inter-pretation, has long been limited in the field of simultaneous interpretation training. This article elaborates the influence of shadow-ing exercise by carrying out an experiment and making a thoroughly analysis about its results. Meanwhile, the article tries to re-evaluate the role of shadowing and emphasize some of its notable effects and therefore wish to apply it into interpretation study of students.
