《诗经》作为伦理教化的重要工具，从多个层面阐释了先秦时期“孝”的观念。《诗经》中“孝”所关涉的对象不同，不同的对象有着不同的时间分布，这与《诗经》的篇章分布直接关涉。“孝”的对象为宗族祖先时，主要是在西周前期和中期，对象为父母时，主要在西周晚期至春秋中叶。这种现象并不是偶然的，与当时家族形态的变化有关。

As an important tool of ethical culture, the Book of Songs illustrates the concept of filial piety in the Pre-chin period from multiple levels. The objects concerned by filial piety in the book of songs are different and are distributed in different periods. The differences and distributions are directly related to the distribution of the chapters of the book of songs. When the object of filial piety are the clan ancestors, it is primarily in the early and middle stage of the Western Zhou dynasty . While the object are the parents, it is mainly from the late Western Zhou dynasty to the middle of the Spring and Autumn Period time. This kind of phenomenon is not accidental and it is related to changes of the form of family at that time.
