110 kV gas-insulated switchgears are widely adopted for the new large pumping station in the South-to-North Water Transfer project. This equipment has the advantages of compact structure, advanced technology, high reliability. But the operation, maintenance and management techniques have different requirements. The improper use and maintenance are easy to cause the power supply failure, even an accident. The article summarizes the running expericece of gas-insulated switchgear in Jiangdu station. It introduces basic operation principle and analyzes the demands of operation and maintenance. It provides reference for the design, operation management and technical staff.
