阐述了我国工程材料课程教学大纲和教材的前期建设情况，介绍了国家精品课清华大学工程材料课程在课时压缩条件下的课程建设进展。针对学校要求减少课程教学学时但不降低培养目标的要求，通过采用强化课程核心内容教学、强化网络教学、课外练习和实践教学、改革考试等措施，保证了工程材料课程教学质量。

Here the early developing process of the syllabus building and textbook editing of engineering materials in China has been introduced, together with the recent progress of the course building under the condition of reducing class hours for the national excellent course of engineering materials in Tsinghua university. In order to meet the requirement of reducing class hours without reducing the teaching quality from the university, we have strengthened the teaching on the key topics of the course, improved the teaching through website, strengthened the experimental training and innovation activity, reformed the examination, and so on. As a result, good teaching quality of the course has been achieved.
