As a new technology, vortices wave can greatly broaden the bandwidth of wireless communication, effectively solving the problem of lacking wireless spectrum resources, in the meantime, having a revolutionary impact on the wireless communication. In this paper, the latest research progress of vortices wave used in wireless communication is introduced, including the concept of vortices wave, the effect of orbital angular momentum in the vortices wave communication, the experimental verification of electromagnetic vortices, as well as the sending and receiving problems of electromagnetic vortices wave. Finally, some problems that remain in the application of electromagnetic vortices wave in wireless communication are pointed out, as well as the next research emphasis is proposed.
